Alice Springs to Alex Cycle Expedition

Embarking on an eastbound cross country journey, Kawana Paramedic Emma Williams will be cycling from Alice Springs, NT to Alexandra Headland, Qld in July 2023 to raise money for QAS Legacy Scheme.

In 2022, Emma walked 1700klms from Alice Springs to Broome via the Tanami track self-supported, pushing full laden trolleys across one of the most remote roads in Australia with her partner James McAlloon to complete his 5,100klm trans-Australian crossing (Footsteps for Good FB). Having caught her partners passion for expeditions, she is now looking to test her physical and mental limits by completing the second half of her trans-Australia crossing on two wheels, cycling 2800klms from Alice to Alex(Alice2Alex FB).

The decision to undertake a cross-country ride across Australia is not one to be taken lightly. It requires substantial preparation both physically, mentally and logistically. In the lead up to Emma’s expedition she had planned to complete the QAS Pedal4Paramedics in April 2023 from Brisbane to Rockhampton to raise money for QAS Legacy and enjoy some company on a multi-day cycle before taking on the solo expedition in July. Unfortunately, Pedal4Paramedics was postponed until 2024. However, Emma is still motivated to make a positive impact by raising funds for QAS Legacy and give back to her colleagues and their families
